Priorities

Life is a constant struggle to establish our priorities. Lately, living in the “upside down” seems to be the new normal. The more things change, the more nothing stays the same.

This is true for Artsmiths as well. However, instead of thinking of it as the upside down, we prefer to think of it as changing to become more relevant and committed to positively impacting our community. We are once again reorganizing our space and programming to achieve this goal.

In September we are launching a new concept exhibit gallery. Our exhibits will encompass a range of mediums and themes that we believe our community needs. At our heart, we seek to increase appreciation of the power of art for individuals of all ages, genders, races and backgrounds. This has also led us to work with a new group, “art for action”.

The goal of this collaboration is to engage with our community to help us all come together to address our feelings about troubling issues in our everyday lives. We will host art making activities, speakers and discussions to help our community cope and heal. Sometimes, we will have an exhibit of the artwork. Sometimes we won’t. .

We are a nonprofit arts education organization. We want to use our art making skills to educate our community on the tremendous benefit of immersion in the arts to ease our everyday stress. Hope you will join us!
